It’s Official: Planet Numbers is Now Planet Telecom Ltd!
It’s been a long time coming – but, as we approach our 26th year in business, Planet Numbers Limited has officially changed its name – we’re now Planet Telecom Ltd, effective as of April 2025.
It’s a change that reflects how far our organisation has come over the years – starting from humble beginnings, evolving over the years to become a fully-fledged telecoms service serving thousands of happy business owners and their customers.
With our name change becoming official through Companies House registration this spring, we feel it not only marks a fantastic milestone for our firm and customers, but also marks an exciting new step in our growth as a company.
Why has the name changed?
Chances are, you may have known us as Planet Telecom for a while – but for years, we traded as Planet Numbers, which reflected our original service offerings.
Starting out, Planet Numbers specialised in memorable phone numbers for businesses – which is a service we still offer as part of our packages! However, since our inception, we’ve grown considerably – we now offer superfast broadband, complete VoIP systems, international call support, softphone assistance, APIs, and many more phone services – we’re now the complete package for small to medium businesses across the UK.
So, that’s why we changed the name! Planet Telecom, as a branding, better reflects the services and packages we provide to you, our customers. Numbers still make up a large part of our expertise and sales proposition – but we’ve come a long way since the late 90s!
Will our services change?
Only to the extent that we’ll keep improving our services and adding extra features and points of accessibility to our customers. The name change reflects how far we’ve come, and how far we have yet to go – and while we’re thrilled at where we are in the mid-2020s, we want to be even better by the mid-2030s, and beyond.
Communication has changed massively over the past few decades – just take a look at how VoIP has swept in as the rightful successor to PSTN and ISDN technologies. By 2027, VoIP will be the standard across the UK – and, for years, we’ve been singing its praises, ready to welcome businesses to more efficient, more affordable call handling.
By 2027, you won’t have a choice over whether or not to use VoIP – but you will still have a choice of provider. With our years of experience and expertise in provisioning flexible, cost-effective VoIP packages for our customers, there’s always room for you to get on board.
Here’s to the next 25 years!
As mentioned, global communications has changed massively since the late 90s, the turn of the millennium, when we first started trending. We’ve rolled with all the trends and changing needs through three decades – and we’re not about to slow down any time soon.
Our change to Planet Telecom Ltd is the start of the next step of our journey as a leading UK VoIP provider and affordable communications expert. Why not come and join us and see where the next quarter-century takes us?
